Release date: 16/10/2015

Ballarat Community Health in collaboration with Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC), are starting up a new Peer Support Group for families of those with substance misuse. We are looking to recruit volunteers with lived family experience to lead the group.  Training and mentorship will be provided.

What is a Peer Leader?

Someone who helps guide the group, acts as the link between group members and Ballarat Community Health and make sure it remains a safe place for people to share.

What’s in it for you?

A safe place to strengthen families with substance problems;
A place to support and educate yourself and others in the same position;
A place to establish and practice new skills and develop personally;
A place to receive and give hope and inspiration;
The potential to establish pathways for further education and employment.
