Youth lawyer

BCH hosts a free youth lawyer service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for young people aged 25 years and under and their carers/support people.

The youth lawyer provides free, confidential legal advice and is available:

  • in-person appointments at Lucas and other outreach locations; and/or
  • telephone appointments

The youth lawyer can assist with a range of legal problems, including fines, criminal charges, intervention orders, victims of crime applications, housing, employment and debt issues. To make an appointment, please contact youth lawyer Katrina Fanning on 0407 854 223 or via email at [email protected]. Young people can also attend the drop-in service at headspace Ballarat (Camp street) between 1:00pm and 4:00pm on the first Friday of the month.

The youth lawyer service is a collaboration between Youth Law, Ballarat Community Health and Federation University. For more information about the service and legal information for young people and their support workers/people, see this website.
