Smoking cessation
Ballarat Community Health runs a smoke-free clinic for any individual looking to give up cigarettes.
The clinic provides advice, ongoing support and accountability to help you work towards your goal of being smoke-free.
The clinic offers an initial 60 minute telehealth appointment, followed by shorter weekly appointments arranged to suit individual clients. Reviews are conducted at three, six and twelve months to touch base, discuss ongoing smoke free status and offer support.
A significant number of our clients use smoking cessation medication and nicotine replacement therapy as prescribed by their GP in conjunction with the support program we offer.
Our smoking cessation staff maintain professional accreditation and benchmarks with other like organisations through involvement with the Lung Health Promotion Unit at the Alfred Hospital and QUIT Victoria.
