Location

Lucas

Our Lucas Facility is the new headquaters of Ballarat Community Health and was officially opened in June, 2014.

The building project received $11.6m in funding from the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing under the Health & Hospitals Fund Program Regional Priority initiative to provide a new Primary Care Facility for the Ballarat community.  This has been supported by a further $2m investment by Ballarat Community Health.

The objective of the Regional Priority initiative is to improve access to essential health services to as many Australians as possible living in rural, regional and remote areas through investment in health infrastructure.  This will help close the gap in health outcomes between major metropolitan and regional areas of Australia.  The aim is to provide comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, integrated care locally to patients and which will help strengthen linkages and the coordination of care between acute and primary health care settings.  This aligns with the Ballarat Community Health vision and mission.
