Ballarat Community Health is delighted to receive a contribution of $3,800 from Ballarat Foundation raised through Run for a Cause 2018.
As a charity partner of the event, BCH will use the money to continue our work into the food insecurity issue in our region and congratulates Ballarat Foundation on a wonderful event.
“To all the runners, walkers, wheel athletes and roughly 500 spectators, we are very thankful to receive this money to continue to do analysis on the issue of food insecurity in Ballarat and provide resources to combat it in our region,” Ballarat Community Health CEO Sean Duffy said.
“This issue is one that lots of people feel very passionate about, including myself. No person in our community should go hungry and we are 100% committed to working with our partner agencies to tackle this problem,” Mr Duffy said.
Ballarat Community Health is enthusiastic about the recent announcement of five million dollars for food insecurity in Ballarat and will do everything possible to work with the Foodbank Hub to help its establishment.
“Working with the Ballarat Foundation and emergency food agencies in our region, BCH is committed to strengthening our response to food insecurity and assisting the Foodbank to improve access and distribution of fresh food to those who need it,” Mr Duffy said.
