Reproductive Health Clinic
Ballarat and the surrounding districts have the lowest cervical screening rates in Victoria.
BCH has responded to this by establishing several nurse-led pap test clinics based at our BCH sites.
We have a number of qualified nurse pap test providers who are credentialed through PapScreen Victoria to provide this service.
In addition to performing pap smears, the nurse pap test provider can refer clients to other services, and provide education and health promotion around the areas of sexual and reproductive health, breast health, menopause and continence.
This clinic operates Wednesday mornings at 260 Vickers Street, Sebastopol & Friday mornings at 1042 Howitt Street, Wendouree, for women 18 years or older. Appointments are approximately 45 minutes long.
Services include:
- pap smear testing
- women’s health issues
- breast health information
- sexual health information
- referral to sexual health clinic and other services and programs at Ballarat Community Health
- follow up of results and referral as appropriate.
