Vaping and e-cigarette use: A prevention toolkit for schools

The Prevention Toolkit for Schools has been developed in response to the rapid rise of vaping and e-cigarette use amongst young people over the last couple of years. Ballarat schools have reported spending many hours a week responding to vaping issues and have requested support from Ballarat Community Health (BCH). Whilst this resource is intended to support schools to create healthy learning environments which aim to prevent students vaping at school, we also acknowledge the need for schools to explore effective responses to e-cigarette use. This Toolkit focuses on specific information for schools, principals, teachers, parents and carers. Other key information included is a Vaping and E-cigarette Checklist for schools, local support services, policy template and a range of evidence-based curriculum resources.
