Relationships education

The Relationships Education program focuses on respectful relationships and aims to reduce and prevent family violence, by improving knowledge, attitudes and skills in secondary school students and other high risk young people in that age group not attending school.
It achieves this by delivering tailored education sessions including open discussion amongst young people about healthy relationships and sexual decision making. Discussion topics include:
• Consent
• Critical thinking
• Trusting conversations
• Sexuality, power and justice
• Help seeking
• Negotiating risk
• Perusing pleasure
• Impacts of pornography

This program is aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and the Respectful Relationships program being rolled out by the Department of Education and Training, and the Ethical Consent Framework from the Australian Curriculum Practical Guide to Love, Sex and Relationships.
