Ballarat Community Health (BCH) would like to present an opportunity for your organisation/workplace to educate your managers and staff on the basics of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) education and support with the purpose to promote health and reduce AOD related harm in your workplace.

AOD 101 has been developed to assist workplaces across our community to educate and provide practical strategies for managers and staff about:

  • Substance use and their affects
  • Impacts on physical and mental health
  • Understanding why we use AOD
  • Impacts on behaviour
  • How to identify substance use
  • How to have that conversation
  • Treatment options
  • Selfcare
  • Workplace safety
  • Policy development

We also offer an Early Intervention AOD Counselling program that is short term and confidential.  This is designed for you to support your staff to access and engage in AOD treatment.  This program provides 3 sessions and includes:

  • Assessment
  • Education
  • Recommended referral pathways
  • Confirmation of attendance

Best of all we come to you! We provide session/s in your workplace that give your staff the opportunity to learn and ask questions from a highly qualified professional that specialises in AOD treatment.
