Ballarat Community Health runs a smoke-free clinic for any individual looking to give up cigarettes.
The clinic provides advice, ongoing support and accountability to help you work towards your goal of being smoke-free. We also work with other organisations to deliver community education and smoking cessation resources.
The clinic offers an initial 90 minute appointment, followed by shorter weekly appointments for eight to ten weeks after quitting. Appointments are arranged to suit individual clients. Phone support is also available as required, and phone reviews are conducted at three, six and twelve months.
A significant number of our clients use smoking cessation medication prescribed by their GP in conjunction with the support program we offer.
Our smoking cessation staff maintain professional accreditation and benchmarks with other like organisations through involvement in the Smoking Cessation Facilitators Network, the Lung Health Promotion Unit at the Alfred Hospital, the Brain Mind Research Instituteat Sydney University and QUIT Victoria.
