School Readiness Funding

School Readiness Funding is a new funding initiative of the Victorian Department of Education that provides allied health support to all eligible Victoria kindergartens.

The aims of SRF are to support the learning and development of children who need it and to address educational disadvantage. There are 3 priority areas including communication (language development), wellbeing (social and emotional) and access & inclusion.

The SRF team at Ballarat Community Health is comprised of allied health professionals from BCH and East Grampians Health Service, consisting of speech pathologists, occupational therapists and psychologists. The SRF team provide programs and supports that builds the capacity of kindergarten services, educators and families to support children’s learning and development outcomes. The allied health professionals work in collaboration with educators and families to build on existing skills and improve outcomes for children that align with Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. SRF- Allied Health is provided at a service level rather than to individual children and target the three priority areas.

SRF- Allied Health at Ballarat Community Health consists of Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Paediatric Psychology.
