Trauma & torture counselling
This specialist counselling program is available to refugees and asylum seekers at any time following their arrival in Australia.
It aims to help survivors find a way forward as they strive to live with courage and dignity and overcome the memories and consequences of their experiences.
Initial appointments are 60 to 90 minutes and further appointments are made as required. This service is provided by a qualified counsellor. Waiting times may apply; an intake worker will assess priority on a case-by-case basis. Telephone interpreter services are used as required.
