BCH Alcohol and other drug team provide support, information and continuing care for individuals with substance abuse or addiction, along with support for family and significant others. We are a judgement free organisation and respect your confidentially and privacy. We offer services to individual’s as well as engaging with external agencies, schools and other health professionals. - Counselling
Alcohol and other drugs counselling at Ballarat Community Health provides support and therapy to individuals who are struggling with substance abuse or addiction, as well as their family members and significant others
- Care and Recovery
Care and recovery coordination provides supportive case management for individuals with complex alcohol and drug issues from a holistic perspective.
- Drink & drug driver behaviour change programs
If you have lost your licence due to a drink or drug driving offence, the process of having it restored may seem challenging. Here at BCH, we can help
- Withdrawal Services
This program provides assessment for home-based or residential withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs for both adults and young people.
- Alcohol and other drug day rehabilitation program – Making a Change (MAC)
The Making a Change program (MAC) is a structured eight-week alcohol and other drug day rehabilitation program.
- Nurse Practioner Services
Our alcohol and drug nurse practitioner* clinic offers a specialist alcohol and drug treatment service at Ballarat Community Health’s Lucas clinic.
- Youth Outreach Worker
The youth outreach program provides a holistic approach to working with at-risk young people aged 11-25 years in their own environment, assisting individuals and family members with alcohol or drug related issues.
- Needle & Syringe Program (NSP)
Through the needle and syringe program, syringes, swabs and disposal containers are provided free of charge, along with a disposal service for used materials.
- Naloxone
Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal drug widely available across the counter in Australia.

The Specialist Family Violence Advisor has expertise within the AOD sector, to support continuous improvement, lead system and practice change and build sector capacity and capability to identify, assess and respond to family violence.

Ballarat Community Health works with your organisation/workplace to educate managers and staff on the basics of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) education and support with the purpose to promote health and reduce AOD related harm in your workplace.
