Counselling and Family Support
Provides support & counselling to individuals who are experiencing issues relating to alcohol or other drug use as well as their family members and significant others.
Care and Recovery Coordination
Provides supportive case management and coordination for individuals with complex alcohol and drug issues from a holistic perspective.
Secondary Consult – Education and Information
Provide secondary consults to other clinicians and workers supporting clients and provide education sessions & information to communities, schools and other agencies.
Non Residential Withdrawal Nurse
Provides assessment for home-based or residential withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs for both adults and young people. Includes the provision of medical support outside of a clinical setting as well as referral and liaison with other services.
Family Violence Advisor
Has expertise within the AOD sector, to support continuous improvement, lead system and practice change and build sector capacity and capability to identify, assess and respond to family violence. Supports implementation of the Information Sharing Schemes and MARAM across AOD in the Central Highlands.
Youth Outreach (12-25 Years)
Provides a holistic approach to working with at-risk young people in their own environment, assisting individuals and family members with alcohol or other drug related issues.
Making A Change (MAC)
Is a FREE structured 8-week, alcohol and other drug therapeutic day rehabilitation program. Promotes behaviour change, improves lifestyle, health and wellbeing and reduces the risk and harms associated with alcohol and other drug use.
Needle and Syringe Program (NSP)
Is a public health initiative that aims to minimise the spread of blood-borne viruses and the harms associated with injecting drug use. All Ballarat Community Health sites offer FREE safe injecting equipment, syringes, swabs, disposal containers and a disposal service for used items.
Nurse Practitioner
Provides short-term involvement around cessation of substance use or long-term management via maintenance pharmacotherapy.

Step Thru Care
Provides mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs support and treatment.

Fee for Service Programs
AOD 101 – Group Education Program
Provides education sessions to workplaces on the basics of Alcohol and Other Drug education/support with the purpose to promote health and reduce AOD related harm in the workplace. Cost and dates vary.
Drink and Drug Driver Behaviour Change Programs (DDDBCP)
BCH no longer offer Drink, Drug, Drive Behaviour Change programs.
