Child health program

The Child Health Program is an initiative funded by the Department of Health & Human Services, delivered through Ballarat Community Health.

The program works to support families with vulnerable children aged 0-12 who have faced difficulties including developmental delay, trauma, family relationship breakdown and other stressors.

BCH is committed to early intervention and aims to increase vulnerable children’s access to timely and appropriate services, including allied health.

A core element of the program will be to support and develop the carer capacity of those closest to the child. The program facilitator work with a family’s health, social, emotional and environmental needs in a co-ordinated manner.

We aim to provide a quality family-centred experience for people requiring services.

The program aims to:

  • strengthen bonds between you and your children
  • assist to set goals you want to achieve
  • provide support and advice
  • provide outreach and practical support
  • support with the child’s development
  • skill development.

Referrals can be made directly to the BCH Child Health Program practitioner, Breanna Marshall, by calling (03) 5338 4544.
